Owners will have to sign an adoption pledge, promising to be responsible and give each cat the attention and time it needs. When they mature, many will have babies of their own - now up to four "kittenz" in a litter. The cats are adopted as "kittenz," and players must raise, train, and watch them grow. Playing the five mini-games provides additional toyz, as well.Ĭatz 5 allows players to adopt and care for virtual cats. In Dogz 5, owners can unleash the frisky pups to scamper across desktops, romp in locales such as the kitchen, nursery, or backyard, and travel to a variety of pre-designed Adventure "Playscenes." Virtual canines can mature and have litters of up to four "pupz," perform tricks, get sick, and play with a collection of "toyz" which accrues as they visit the various play scenes.
This Petz package from series publisher Ubisoft includes the full versions of two of the series' later PC life simulations, Dogz 5 and Catz 5, both originally released in 2002. The "Petz" games - comprising both the Dogz and Catz titles - were developed by Studio Mythos, and were first adopted onto home computer screens in 1995.Enjoy! Head over to the "adopt" page or any of the "apply" pages, let me know you're new and I'll shower you with petz.
STEP 2: Patch the game with "PetzA" from Sherlock Software to make it the full version of the game (there seems to be some issues with newer computers when installing into program files and this prevents many issues) STEP 1: Download the petz demo here and save into " My Documents" (NOT program files) Otherwise, it sounds like Petz is working with Windows 10 (and all older versions). I will update this later if I find out a wayto make PetzA profiles compatible with older versions of windows. NOTE: If playing on Windows 10, do NOT "enable PetzA profiles" in the "PetzA options" or you will have to reinstall.
Save into "My Documents" in order to save some trouble with issues about where petz are saved and maintaining your game's data.
I personally don't know how to make that work. Should work on all "Windows" computers, but if you want to play on a Mac. Even those who own Petz 3 can adopt petz from Petz 4. Since most users on the web use Petz 4, I would advise this one simply because if you want to adopt petz out to other players, you will be able to reach a larger audience by making them available to all people. Petz 5 also seems to be a bit glitchy and is not backwards compatible. So I probably would stick with this version if you decide to play.
Note: Unlike Petz 4, there does not seem to be any legal way to download Petz 5 for free.
I have not uploaded the files myself, but am simply pointing you in the right direction of where to find them. Ubisoft no longer sells the game, and when it was around they even had a patch & demo available where it could be obtained for free, so there should be no issue with me including it here. I'm serious.) In addition, since the game is so old it's very hard to obtain.
My hope is that by sharing where to install the game here, that more people will find the game and join the "petz community" of petz players both old and young (there are people in their 30's and older that still play the game. Since Petz is such an old game, it is difficult to get new people to play.
